Snow on the Quantocks (December 2017)

Thursday 28th December 2017

One day prior to this walk, I’d seen numerous snow-filled photographs of the Quantock Hills and other high places, spread across social media. I had days to spare but didn’t want to wait too long in case it began to clear as quickly as it had arrived. So, it was down to the Quantocks, I would go.

This post is quite timely, as night-time temperatures have recently dropped below freezing in the UK and, down in Somerset, we’re being reminded of weather warnings and the constant threat of fresh snow.

Knee-Deep on Crib Y Garth

Sunday 17th December 2017

YouTube Update – 19/12/2017

I’d like to try and make this style of post a regular feature of my blog. Perhaps once a month, I can produce a ‘YouTube Update’, detailing all that I’ve uploaded within the previous thirty days. Saturday 28th October 2017

Just yesterday, I’ve been back for a third visit within the space of twelve months…

You’ll read about that another day. Tracing back to the end of October and this wasn’t just a return visit; it was an opportunity for a YouTube meetup with Mark from Wye Explorer.

Quantock Hills Walk – June 2017

Sunday 25th June 2017

I will rarely go more than a couple of months without heading south for a walk on the Quantock Hills. In several ways, I prefer walking there to the thought of exploring the Mendip Hills on my doorstep. Depending on where I start the walk from, the drive can take less than one hour.

This walk was led by another member of Brunel 20s and 30s and, nearing three months later, I am surprised that I’ve not been back since. But then, I’ve also been quite busy with walking and camping in other places.
