Climbing Cadair Idris (Part 1)

In an ideal world, I’d be sat here, ready to start writing up a walk I did last weekend in the Peak District… But with little time for blogging in this thing called LIFE, I’m going to take you back to a weekend at the end of May.

Camping away with Brunel Walking Group, this was our second full day in Snowdonia, ahead of a final night’s sleep and long drive home to follow. I think it was only a ten-minute drive from the camp site but the majority of the group set off to climb Cadair Idris.

Rural Dolgellau

Saturday 27th May 2017

My first full day in Mid Wales; the morning after our arrival. Some didn’t turn up or even pitch their tents until close to midnight!

We awoke to the sound and chill of rain British Weather. Two walks were happening at the same time; both with early starts. Everyone was moving, I just wanted to slow down and breathe for a bit… So, I ended up spending the day intentionally alone.

Back From Dolgellau

I arrived home at about 20.10 last night, having spent the previous three evenings sleeping in a tent to the south of Snowdonia in mid Wales.

My first trip away with and experience of camping with a walking group. Previously, I’d only been camping with one friend at a time. It’s passed by very quickly and there are many things I could reflect on.
