Black Mountains Hike – May 2018

Saturday 5th May 2018

My Bank Holiday weekend had begun! This was to be the first of two major outings over the course of three days. I’d not been across to the Welsh mountains since a very wet day in January. For this weekend, the forecast promised undisturbed sunshine.

Walking Two Canal Paths

Saturday 14th April 2018

My latest walk along the Severn Way long-distance path had led me as far as Upper Framilode in Gloucestershire. From here, I’d been looking to make a return to my car, following a couple of canal paths.

Returning to Cranborne Chase

Sunday 1st April 2018

Easter Sunday. A day when many might be stuck indoors eating chocolate eggs… Believe me, I could’ve easily done the same, if only I hadn’t celebrated a birthday the day before and following an absolute downpour of a Good Bad Friday.

Llansteffan Circular Walk (Wales Coast Path)

Thursday 16th November 2017

For this example of how I plan a walking route to follow, I’ve selected the area of Cranborne Chase on the North Dorset/Wiltshire border.

Leadin’ at Bredon Hill

Sunday 11th June 2017

Here we are, preparing to say goodbye to August and I’ve just arrived in the month that was June, with my writing! I’m also leapfrogging ahead ten-days from the start of the month in order to carry on with the good stuff.

So, back in December, I’d effectively pre-walked this route up in Worcestershire, ready to take the group on a tour of Bredon Hill at a later date. With people in their cars and, later, having arrived at the start point; we were ready to go.
