It’s been a month since I last wrote about my mileage (for June) and now it’s time to write about July! I feel bad in realising that I haven’t written on this blog in between these points… Looking at the list below, I can already see two walks that I’d like to write about. I just need to commit to it.
I witnessed the dawn of November 2019 and vividly remember telling myself that I could write my review of the previous month’s walking within a matter of days… A fortnight has passed since! We’re halfway through another month that I’m keeping track off and it’s beyond time for me to catch up.
Easter Sunday 21st April 2019
Following a day of rest spent mostly indoors, I was eager to get out again, with two further rest days to follow. Setting off from my front door and staying local wasn’t going to do it for me this time… I wanted to get out and away; deciding upon a drive south down the M5, west along the A39 and to the northern fringe of the much-loved Quantock Hills.

A few years ago, I walked the entire length of the West Somerset Coast Path (which also forms a completed portion of the England Coast Path) with my friend Anna. I’d been meaning to return and revisit a couple of areas but was mainly put off by the inability to plot an appealing circular route that would avoid the many roads.
Well, tarmac or not, I was prepared to revisit this lesser-travelled stretch of coast on a particularly windy day, one weekend at the beginning of 2019.
