Here we are, ten days in to a new year and I’d like to spend some time looking ahead to potential aims for my time spent outdoors in 2018.

Uffington White Horse

Sunday 17th September 2017

As if it wasn’t enough to have visited all of the Wiltshire White Horses across 2017, Jo had one more in store for us, just over the border in Oxfordshire.

We drove east along the M4 motorway, one last time. Departing for Swindon East, to later arrive the the pay-and-display car park (free for National Trust members) at White Horse Hill.

White Horse Trail – Walk 3 of 7

Saturday 17th June 2017

It feels like such a long time since I last wrote about a White Horse Trail walk [three months to the day] – and, in the time since, I’ve actually completed the final three walks in the series and the ninety-mile long trail itself! All will be revealed in good time.

But, I’m pleased to say I have been looking at my options for accommodation along the trail. Continue reading

White Horse Trail – Walk 2 of 7 (Part 2)

Bank Holiday Monday 17th April 2017

I was just about halfway in to this walk; thinking about lunch while having to negotiate a herd of dairy cattle who had congregated close to the stile I was aiming for.

White Horse Trail – Walk 2 of 7 (Part 1)

Bank Holiday Monday 17th April 2017

This was the second walk in what will become a series of seven, enabling the completion of Wiltshire’s White Horse Trail.

I wasn’t able to attend this as an organised group event, due to a clash with Mother’s Day. A couple of weeks later, I set off for Wiltshire on my own, during the Easter Bank Holiday Monday.
